Who We Are
Joysn-West is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people in rural communities grow, learn, and succeed. Our mission is to provide opportunities for young people and adults to develop leadership skills, learn STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), and achieve their full potential.
We believe that every individual can make a difference when given the right tools, guidance, and opportunities.
What We Do
At Joysn-West, we focus on creating a safe, inspiring, and well-equipped environment where our community can thrive. Our programs include:
- STEM Education & Training
- Hands-on learning in science, technology, engineering, and math
- Computer labs and technology workshops
- Special programs to prepare students for future careers
- Leadership Development (BUILD)
- BUILD stands for Building Up Individuals through Leadership and Development
- Mentorship and skill-building programs for all ages
- Activities designed to teach responsibility, teamwork, and confidence
- Community Programs & Opportunities
- Partnerships with local schools, businesses, and volunteers
- Workshops, events, and mentorship to strengthen our community
- Special initiatives to create long-term economic and educational growth
- Campus Growth & Infrastructure
- We are developing a future National STEM Campus in Roseboro
- Facilities include classrooms, labs, and outdoor learning spaces
- Our goal is to expand STEM access and resources for the region
